We are God's caring family...

Well, I did just speak to Helen a couple minutes ago.  She and Chris were able to visit Max this morning and when they got to the room, he was sitting up in a chair and was doing really well.  It was really nice to be able to talk to him and she said he just looks really good.  He had a bit of a longer, harder night that was desirable, but he's looking good and if they transfer him out of ICU to another room, he'll have more quiet and restful sleep.  They DID stand him up once last night and that was tough on him, but he's sleeping now and he plans to try to walk around a bit after lunch and Helen and Chris will go visit with him some more.  In general, it is all encouraging news at this point.  Continued thanks for your prayers and support.

Dear Phil --
Thank you for very much for the updates. How helpful for our prayers and always great to hear answers to prayers. My family met many of you at First Covenant in August when we visiting Max & Helen from Berkeley. They are dear and very close friends of ours and I really echo their feelings and give thanks for how welcome and cared for they feel with you all.. I received a wonderful suprise phone call from Max this afternoon and he sounded great. He said he walked quite a bit today which is all a great sign and he was in great spirits. Continued prayers for no infections as sutures heal up and enough recovery so the docs say he can go home soon. Amen.
